SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH: COMMEMORATION OF 50 YEARS OF 1971 WAR

Jammu: “Swarnim Vijay Varsh” is being celebrated throughout the year 2021 to commemorate 50th anniversary of the magnificent and overwhelming victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1971 war. The Victory Flame, “Swarnim Vijay Mashaal”, brought by Indian Army and escorted by the Indian Air Forces Police, was received by Air Commodore Ajay Singh Pathania, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Jammu and his team, with honour and glory. Air warriors clad in ceremonial uniform saluted the “Swarnim Vijay Mashaal” enroute with pride and honour. The “Sanginis” and children of the Base paid their respect to the Vijay Mashaal. 1971 War Veterans, other veterans, serving Air Warriors, Sanginis, NCC Cadets, Scouts and Guides and Civilian personnel of the Station assembled at the Station War Memorial to commemorate the sacrifice of War Heroes in the victory of the 1971 war. The Air Officer Commanding addressed the gathering and discussed the experiences shared by                 1971 war veterans. A documentary on 1971 war was screened at the Station Auditorium. All COVID-19 precautions were followed during the celebration of “Swarnim Vijay Varsh” at the base.
