ARMY SETS UP COVID ISOLATION CENTRE AT PATHANKOT WITHIN 48 HOURS

Jammu: A 50 bed COVID Care Centre has been set up at District Sports Stadium, Lamini, Pathankot in Punjab within 48 hours of request made by Civil administration. The centre has been necessitated by surging cases in Pathankot.
Mr Sanyam Aggarwal, IAS, the DC of affected area said that it would help those COVID patients who are unable to isolate effectively in homes due to presence of senior citizens, pregnant women or children. The centre has been equipped by the Army and would be staffed by civil medical staff. Earlier too, Army had augmented the COVID capacity of District Hospital, Pathankot on 28 Apr 21 by establishing additional 50 beds for increasing COVID patients. The Military Hospital has in addition been treating civil COVID patients referred by District Hospital. 66 such patients have been admitted to the Military Hospital till date. It must be remembered that Punjab state as on Thursday had a caseload of 70,499 including 2,370 in Pathankot.
