KRISHNA GHATI BRIGADE CELEBRATES SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH

Jammu:  To celebrate the 50th anniversary of India’s historic victory over Pakistan in May war which resulted in creation of a new nation, Bangladesh and arouse passion and patriotism, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal originating from the National War Memorial Delhi is being carried to all military stations and field formations. The Swarnim Vijay Mashal was received in Krishna Ghati Brigade of district Poonch (J&K) sector by Barasingha battalion on 20 May 2021.
 
            Barasingha battalion welcomed and paid homage to Swarnim Vijay Mashal by wreath lying at Barasingha battalion war memorial. Subsequently, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal was taken to Tain village where it was welcomed by the Awaam and children of Tain village sung national anthem. To remember the supreme sacrifice of our soldiers of 1971 war, the soil from battle ground of 1971 war in Barasingha battalion was presented to the Swarnim Vijay Mashal Team.
 
            Thereafter, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal with entourage moved to Balnoi battalion. At Balnoi Base War Memorial, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal was paid homage by wreath laying and  hoisting national flag. True to its tradition, Krishna Ghati brigade remembered its 1971 war hero Late Havildar Ghulam Mohd and felicitated his wife Smt Fathma Bevi. The Swarnim Vijay Mashal has been kept at Balnoi Base for the night and tomorrow morning, the journey to Nangi Tekri and  Sarla battalion will resume.
