KRISHNA GHATI BRIGADE CELEBRATES SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH.

Jammu:Continuing with the celebration of Swarnim Vijay Varsh in Krishna Ghati Brigade, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal was received by Nangi Tekri Battalion on 21 May 21. During 1971 war, Nangi Tekri was captured from Pakistan by the valiant soldiers of 21 PUNJAB which epitomised the saga of bravery and courage of Indian Army.
 
            The Swarnim Vijay Mashal was welcomed and paid homage by wreath laying at Nangi Tekri War Memorial. To remember the supreme sacrifice of our soldiers of 1971 war, the soil from battle ground of 1971 war in Nangi Tekri battalion was presented to the Swarnim Vijay Mashal Team. Subsequently, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal was taken to Baba Garib Das Academy, Salotri, where it was welcomed by the children of the school.
 
            Thereafter, the Swarnim Vijay Mashal with entourage moved to General’s War Memorial, Jhullas where it was handed over to Sarla Battalion. The Swarnim Vijay Mashal was taken to the house of Mrs Gurucharan Kaur wife of Late Subedar Seva Singh (11 JAK LI), who made the supreme sacrifice on 04 Dec 1971 in Doda Sector in defence of Poonch. The Swarnim Vijay Mashal finally reached Gulpur where homage was paid at Sarla War Memorial. The Swarnim Vijay Mashal has been kept at Gulpur for the night and tomorrow morning, the onward journey to Poonch Brigade area will resume.
