NIA arrest 8 more terror operatives in multiple raids across Kashmir Valley

JAMMU, OCTOBER 22: The National Investigation Agency in multiple raids across Kashmir Valley on Friday arrested eight people for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy to carry out terror attacks in Jammu Kashmir and elsewhere the country.

In an official statement here, NIA said that it conducted searches at ten locations in Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian , Pulwama, Anantnag and Baramulla districts and arrested eight more accused. They include Adil Ahmad War, Manan Gulzar Dar, Zamin Adil and Sobhia of Srinagar, Hilal Ahmed Dar and Shaquib Bashir of Kupwara, Rouf Bhat of Anantnag and Haris Nisar Langoo.

The case relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent terror acts in J&K and other major cities by the cadres of proscribed terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Hizbul Mujahideen, Al Badr and their affiliates like The Resistance Front, People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc.

The NIA had registered a case in the matter on October 10 and it has so far arrested 13 people.

The eight people arrested on Friday in the Valley are terror operatives of various proscribed terrorist organizations and they have been instrumental in logistic and material support to terrorists.

Electronic devices and incriminating jihadi documents/posters etc., were also seized during searches, the statement said, adding further investigations were in progress.
