JAMMU, MARCH 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday seized huge quantity of narcotics and cash, besides a pistol along with ammunition from the house of a notorious narcotics smuggler near the Line of Control in Poonch district.
Identifying the alleged narcotics smuggler as Mohammad Rafi alias Rafi Lala of Danadoiyan village in Mandi tehsil of Poonch, police said that he was detained under Public Safety Act a few days ago.
The seizures included 7 kgs of heroin, nearly Rs 2 crore in cash, a pistol along with one magazine and 10 rounds, besides seven rounds of SLR. This followed raid on his house following some inputs by a police team led by Inspector Sunil, along with NCA and CRPF, it said, adding that counting of cash was in progress.
Claiming to have busted a narco-terror module, the police said that its nexus with Punjab based narcotics smugglers was being investigated.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Mandi police station and investigations set into motion.
