Three criminals detained under PSA in Samba

SAMBA, MAY 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that three notorious criminals have been detained under the stringent Public Safety Act in the Samba district.

Identifying them as Narayan Sharma alias Shuna of Thalori Brahmana, tehsil Vijaypur, Rohan Kumar alias Gorav of Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana and Sumit Slathia alias Bhanu Partap Singh of Gurha Slathia tehsil Vijaypur, a police spokesperson said that this has been done in order to curb the criminal activities in the district.

These criminals were involved in multiple criminal cases, posing a serious threat to public peace and tranquility, the spokesperson said.

“Following their repeated engagement in criminal activities, detention orders were issued by the District Magistrate Samba based on detailed dossiers prepared by SSP Samba,” he said, adding that the police teams of Vijaypur and Samba police stations successfully executed these warrants, leading to the incarceration of the accused in District Jail Kathua.

“The successful operation shows the commitment of Samba Police towards ensuring safety of the public and its resolve to counter criminal activities,” he added.
