Rajouri, December 3: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday recovered a hand grenade from the roadside near Gujjar Mandi area of Rajouri town.Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that based on a specific tip off, a team headed by SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani recovered the grenade kept alongside road between Gujjar Mandi – Kheora stretch.
” Acting promptly, the grenade was recovered from the spot and has been taken into possession.” SSP said.
He further informed that a case under relevant sections of law have been registered in Rajouri police station with investigation into the matter and hunt to nab the accused is going on.
SSP said that in view of DDC Polls, security is on high alert in Rajouri and prompt action by police team averted a possible terror action.
