Man posing as NIA inspector arrested in Jammu

Jammu, December 6:  Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested an imposter who cheated a local by posing himself as an NIA inspector.

A police party from Trikuta Nagar police station following a written complant by one Pritam Lal of  Bhalwal stating that one Mainder Pal Singh of Chattogram village in Tral came in contact with him posing himself as a police inspector attached with NIA. The latter hired his Innova vehicle no JK02CC 1150.

Later, he convinced the complainant that one more vehicle was required for a DySP in the NIA. On this, the complainant purchased new Scorpio and handed it over to Mainder Pal Singh who assured complainant that he will get Rs 60,000/month for each vehicle.

Initially, Mainder Pal Singh gave some payment to the complainant, but later adopted dilly delaying tactics on one pretext or the other. On this complainant became suspicious and reported the matter at Trikuta Nagar police station.

Following complaint, a team led by SHO police station Trikuta Nagar, Deepak Pathania, arrested the accused.
