One held from Bihar for supplying weapons to militants in Kashmir

Jammu: Jammu Kashmir Police on Saturday apprehended an associate of an already arrested terrorist Hidayaat-ullah Malik , chief of Lashkar-e-Mushtafa, an offshoot of Jaish-e-Mohammad, from Bihar in connection with the suppoly of arms to him.

He has been identified as Javaid Alam Ansar, son of Mahfooz Alam Ansari, of Deobahuara, Chapra, Bihar, a statement issued by police here on Saturday said, adding the arrest has been made by UT Police with the help of ATS Patna. In this connection, an FIR No.16/2021 has been registered at Gangyal Police Station.

LeM chief Hidayaat-ullah Malik, who was involved in various terror activities in South Kashmir, was arrested early this month from the outskirts of Jammu city. Later, on this disclosures, police apprehended nearly half a dozen of his associates including  his wife from both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

Diretor General of Police for J&K Police, Dilbagh Singh has recently said that he had with the help of his associates in Punjab brought seven pistols have Bihar’s Chappra area and distributed them to militants in Kashmir. He was also involved in the looting of Rs 60 lakh from Jammu Kashmir Bank’s cash van in Kashmir.

On instructions of his Pakistan handler who is known as “Doctor’’ , he had gone to Delhi, done reece of the office of NSA Ajit Doval and sent the video to him  in Pakistan, DGP said, adding that Jaish-e-Mohammad, apart from creating terror network in Jammu was also planning to have targets in Delhi.

He had come to Jammu to set up hideouts so as to carry out terror activities here as well, apart from Kashmir, besides establishing a network to receive weapons brought in from Pakistan through tunnels, drones, or over ground by militants  and send them to Kashmir.

In 2018 when Jaish-e-Mohammad was involved in many terror activities with number of terrorists coming here through a tunnel from Pakistan, a terrorist Ashiq Nengroo used to receive them here . In December 2019, he along with his family was sent to Pakistan through the same tunnel, DGP said, adding that he is, at present, in Pakistan and giving direction to terror activities and arranging logistics at the directions of Pakistani agencies.
