J&K reports highest ever 73 Corona related deaths on Monday

With 54 people losing battle to COVID-19 and 1493 new positive cases, there had been no let up in Corona related deaths and new cases of infection in Jammu division.

Jammu: The Union Territory on Monday reported the highest number of 73 Corona related deaths ever since COVID-19 pandemic hit the world last year.

Of these, the highest 54 deaths took place in Jammu division and 19 in Kashmir. With this, the UT’s Corona related death toll so far has risen to 3,222 including 1,493 in Jammu and 1,729 in Kashmir.

Pointing out that Rajouri district reported six deaths and 106 new COVID Positive cases during the last 24 hours, sources said that it is becoming another hot spot after Jamnu in the UT.

The UT also reported 3,344 new cases of COVID-19 including 1,418 in Jammu division and 1,926 in Kashmir. With this, the UT has reported a total of 2,47,952 Covid positive cases so far.

However, of them, only 50,852 are active positive as 1,93,878 have recovered.
