A huge consignment of illicit liquor recovered by police station Bakshi Nagar #Jammu. Six Bootleggers arrested with 785 bottles

Jammu : A major crackdown operation was carried out against the menace of illicit liquor whereby inputs were received from reliable sources, that during the COVID curfew some person are engaged into illegal trade of liquor, Jammu Police has recovered a huge consignment of illicit liquor that was meant for the purpose of selling illegally during lockdown situation in the district.

Acting swiftly on the information dedicated special police teams of PP Sarwal under the supervision of SP City North Mohita Sharma, IPS were constituted. The team led by SDPO West Rahul Naggar, SHO P/S Bakshi Nagar Inspr. Ravi Kant assisted by I/C PP Sarwal SI Yougal Kishore reached on the spot and seized the 785 bottles + 2 broken bottles) and arrested accused namely:

1.) Sourab Gupta S/O Romesh Chander Gupta R/O Matador Stand near shiv Mandir Janipur.
2.) Mohan Lal S/O Ram Lal R/O Gopal Nagar Haiboaal, Kalam Ludhiana AP MI Capital Baribrahamana, Jammu
3.) Kushal Sharma S/O Nathu Ram Sharma R/O Chandan Nagar, Civil line Ludhiana, Punjab
4.) Sonu Sharma S/O Chaman Lal Sharma R/O kaleeth, Akhnoor
5.) Vishal khajuria S/O Raj Gopal Khajuria R/O Lane no 6 Adarsh Bihar channing Jammu
6.) Kuldeep kumar S/O Sita Ram
R/O Janipur colony Jammu.

During the preliminary enquiry it has been surfaced that it was brought from outside the UT for sale among the youth in Jammu and Kashmir.

Also a case FIR No. 81/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in P/S Bakshi Nagar.
