Centenarian woman sets example as she takes first shot of covid vaccine in remote Udhampur village

Udhampur: A centenarian woman, Dholi Devi, claiming to be 120 year old, set example for younger people, when she turn up to get first shot of covid vaccination.

Dholi Devi resident of village Ghar Katiyas of Sub Division Dudu, Tehsil Latti was given the first dose at a the vaccination camp held by the district administration in the remote area.

Family members claimed the age of the women on the basis of ration card.

While sharing her views about COVID-19 disease, one of the members said “We feel more confident and protected as the vaccine is the best shield against the Covid infection.” He said they were very happy to get ‘our eldest member of family vaccinated against the covid decease.’

The family members thanked to district administration Udhampur for organizing the vaccination camps in the remotest areas. They appealed to the people of the District to come forward and get vaccinated against Covid.

“Taking vaccine is safe and secure” they said and stressed on wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing besides other Covid SOPs being issued by Government.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib has appealed the public to cooperate with the District Administration to break the chain of Corona virus. The DC asked the health department to expedite the vaccination campaign in a mission mode and achieve the targets in a fixed timeline. She advised the public of the district to follow Covid appropriate behaviour and SOPs like wearing face masks, washing hands with soap regularly and maintaining social distance.
