Absconding for 22 years, militants’ harbourer arrested by J&K Police in Reasi

Reasi: An alleged harbourer of militants, who was evading arrest fir past 22 years, was on Monday arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Reasi district.

Identified as Mohi-ud-din S/O Samdoo of Shikari village in Mahore tehsil, he had been providing shelter and other logistics to militants. A case was registered against him at Mahore police station in 1999, but he went underground soon after the challan was presented against him in the court.

As he could not be apprehended, a warrent under section 512 CrPC was issued by the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate (JMIC) Mahore against the accused on February 18, 2002.

With meticulous planning and coordinating efforts after developing input, a police team from Mahore police station arrested the criminal.

He is the 14th absconder arrested by police in Reasi district within a period of six weeks against whom warrants U/S 512 CrPC were pending.
