Rajouri girl Mawya Sudan becomes first IAF woman fighter pilot from J&K

Jammu: Mawya Sudan of Jammu and Kashmir’s border Rajouri district has become the first woman officer from the Union Territory to be inducted as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force.

Daughter of Sushma and Vinod Sudan she, however, is the 12th woman IAF officer in the country.

Chief of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bhaduria reviewed the combined graduation passing out parade, held on Saturday at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad.

The Fight Pilot’s father, Vinod Sharma, who is a JE in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, said that Mawya was inclined towards Air Force since her school days and always wanted to become a Fight Pilot.
