BSF kill Pak intruder on IB in Kathua; seize 27 kg heroin

Jammu: Alert BSF troops on Wednesday killed a Pakistani intruder and foiled an attempt to smuggle huge consignment of narcotics from across the international border into Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pointing out that 27 kg heroin has been seized, officials said the BSF personnel at a forward location noticed some suspicious movement on the IB from Pakistan side and alerted the troops. When the pakistani smugglers entered IB towards Indian side, the BSF challenged them and opened fire, forcing them to flee back to Pakistan side.

Later during search of the area, BSF found 27 packets of Heroin near the border fence.

The approx value of this narcotics consignment is about Rs 135 crores.

With this recovery, BSF Jammu has once again exposed the nefarious designs of Pak authorities to smuggle Narcotics consignment to India through International border. Narco terrorism angle can also not be ruled out, they added.
