Seven burglars arrested in Udhampur; stolen property recovered

Udhampur: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted a gang of thieves in Udhampur district and recovered stolen property nine mobile phones and Cash of worth Rs 17000 from them.

Based on a complaint lodged by one Subash Chander of Ritti Udhampur that some cash worth Rs 3000 and some grocery items have gone missing from his store in the area, police had registered a case under FIR No. 245/2021 U/S 457/380 IPC. A special team led by inspector Chaman Gorka under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs. Udhampur started the investigation.

During the investigation, several suspects were rounded up and statements of witnesses recorded, based on leads developed, seven persons were identified and apprehended namely as Sajad Mohammed son of Gulzar Mohammed of Chak Bakali, Karam Din son of Abdul Karim of Krimchi Kandal, Sagar Singh son of Roshan Singh of Battal Ballian, Ganesa Kumar @ Mushki son of Babu Ram of Near Forest Office Christian Colony, Mannu son of Rajkumar of near CEO Office Udhampur, Sahil son of Manzoor Ahmed of Chak Rakwal and Mohd. Azgar son of Manzoor Ahmed of Chak.

Based on their disclosure, stolen items ninevmobile phones and cash to the tune of Rs 17000 have been recovered from the possession of these accused persons.

During the further course of investigation, these accused persons also disclosed that they were involved in some more thefts earlier also for which FIR No 203/2021, 232/2021, 244/2021 were lodged at Police station Udhampur.
