Jammu: Alert BSF personnel on Tuesday night opened fire on a drone flying in a forward area along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Arnia sector on Tuesday night.

“On intervening night of July 13/14 a blinking red light was observed by own troops in Arnia sector at about 0952 pm at a height of 200 mtrs on own side. Alert troops fired from their position towards red blinking light , due to which it returned back,” a senior BSF officer said.

Area being searched, but nothing has been found so far, he said.

The drone sightings have almost become a regular feature in Jammu ever since a drone attack at Indian Air Force station here last month.

There have been many instances of air dropping of arms and ammunition by Pakistan based terror outfits through drones in Jammu and Kashmir.
