Over a dozen 1999 batch police officers from J&K police service to be inducted into IPS

Jammu: After nearly 13 years, 13-14 police officers of 1999 batch from state services (JKPS) in Jammu and Kashmir as the high level committee comprising a member from UPSC cleared the way for their promotion.

Sources said that the committee which met in Srinagar on Thursday has cleared the way for induction of  28 JKPS Officers  into IPS .

UPSC member TCA Anant, CS J&KΒ  Arun Mehta , Home Secretary Shaleen Kabra , DGP J&K Dilbag Singh , IG BSF and IGP CRPF were present in the meeting.

Sources said that 13 to 14  JKPS Officers of 1999 batch are cleared , whereas rest are retirees.

The vacancies are likely to be taken into account from year 2012 or 2013 , wheras allotment year to be taken from 2008 or 2009.

This will create more opportunities for JKPS Officers in coming years, as far as induction into IPS is concerned.

Sources further told that 14 more JKPS Officers likely to be inducted into IPS next year.
