Packet seems to have been airdropped by a drone from Pakistan side

Jammu: Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, alert security forces on Friday seized a packet containing two pistols and five magazines from Babban nalah near the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district.

An Army spokesperson said that the packet was dropped by a drone from Pakistan side.

“Drone activity was sighted near the international border in Samba sector in the morning. During searches of the area, the packet containing arms and ammunition was seized,” he added.

In view of the coming Independence Day, security forces and police have been maintaining high alert along with border and in hinterland. Recently at its flag meeting with Pakistani Rangers, BSF had lodged a strong protest over the increased drone activity over Indian side by some elements across the border.
