Targeted killings: 400 detained in major crackdown in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, OCT 10: Security agencies in a major crackdown in Kashmir have detained over 400 people for alleged separatist links.

This follows series of targeted killings of the members of minority communities by militants in Kashmir.

The TRF had claimed responsibility of the killing of a school principal and a teacher in Srinagar.  

Sources said that those detained include members of Jamat-e-Islami, activists of Tehreeq-e-Hurriyat and also those who had militancy links in the past. The crackdown will continue, sources said, adding that top officials of RAW and IB, besides Counter-Insurgency experts have reached Kashmir to assist the security agencies.
