NEW DELHI, JANUARY 12: The Supreme Court on Wednesday set up a four member probe panel headed by a retired Apex court judge, Justice Indu Malhotra to investigate the security lapse during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Punjab visit on January 5.
Apart from Justice (Retd) Indu Malhotra, the panel will have members in Director General of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Director General of Security of Punjab and Registrar General of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The apex court, while setting up an independent committee, said that the panel will inquire into the causes of the security breach, persons responsible for it and the measures to be taken in future for preventing such security breaches of VVIPs.
