Army, J&K police seized 31 narcotics from near LoC in Poonch

JAMMU, JANUARY 21: Indian Army and J&K Police in a joint operation near the Line of Control in UT’s border Poonch district have recovered nearly 31 kgs of heroin like substance.

Pointing out that the seizure came very close to the LoC, Army PRO Lt Colonel Devender Anand here said that the operations were backed up with a well integrated surveillance grid coupled with extensive domination of the areas close to the Line of Control.

The seized narcotics were packed in over a dozen packets and these appear to have been dropped on this side of the LoC from Pakistan occupied Kashmir. 

The seizure came during relentless operations launched in the area by Army and J&K Police on the intervening night of January 19-20 following inputs about the likely smuggling of narcotics through the LoC.
