Sources said that following heavy snowfall, the power supply got disrupted in Dudu block after some 11 KV transmission line got broken at various places from Sirah Morh Grid Station.

Working on meager monthly wages of Rs 6,750 only, these ill-equipped daily wagers and casual workers immediately swung into action and took up restoration works without caring for their own safety in the absence of any protective gears and proper toolkits provided to them by the department.

Reports reaching here said that they had managed to restore nearly 2 km of the transmission line from Sirah Morh to Latti by Saturday evening, but it again developed snag during night making these poor and helpless warriors of the Power Development Department resume restoration works again.

By Sunday afternoon, they had been able to restore the transmission line only up to 1 km.
