Shah appreciates role of CRPF, hopes for lasting peace in North-East, J&K soon

JAMMU, MARCH 19: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday appreciated CRPF for its role in maintaining internal security and also for ensuing free and fair elections across the country, adding that “I am hopeful that in the coming years the CRPF won’t be required in these areas”.

Addressibg the 83rd CRPF Day Parade at M A Stadium here, he referred to PM Narendra Modi’s dream of taking India to the top in all the fields by Centenary celebrations of India’s Independence and asked the CRPF DG to prepare a road map for modernising the force keeping in view the challenges of the future.

Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, he said that the “dreams of Shayama Prasad Mookerjee and Pt Prem Nath Dogra of having Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan Aur Ek Pradhan stand fulfilled as the revocation of Article 370 has ended the discrimination with under privileged sections”including women, West Pak refugees, Pahari and Gurkha and Valmiki communities.

He also appreciated the J&K administration for all round development and its crusade against corruption.
