Former Sangrama MLA Shoaib Lone gets interim bail in cheating case

JAMMU, JULY 25: Second Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, R K Sapru, here on Monday granted interim bail to former Sangrama MLA, Shoaib Nabi Lone, in an FIR registered against him by Crime Branch in 2019 on charges of forgery and conspiracy.

Lone was arrested by Crime Branch from Kashmir on July 19 this year.

The FIR was registered against him on the basis of a complaint lodged by one Harmeet Singh Sasan, one of the directors of M/s Alpine Fresh Private Limited. Shoaib Nabi Lone is stated to be one of the founding Directors of the company.

According to the complaint, Shoaib Nabi Lone in league with the Company Secretary illegally deleted names of Harmeet Singh Sadan and his wife from the list of Directors. 

Pointing out that Sasan was holding 65,000 shares in the company and his wife 5,000 shares, the complaint added that Lone in connivance with Company Secretary reduced their shares to zero, thereby causiyloss worth crores of rupees to the complainant and the company.

Senior Advocate Pranav Kohli along with Aftab Malik advocate appeared for Lone, while the complainant was represented by Advocates Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed and Sheikh Naheem Ashraf. Public Prosecutor D. P. Singh appeared for Crime Branch, Jammu. 

After hearing all the sides, judge granted interim bail to Lone.
