JAMMU, MAY 5: Police and security forces in a joint operation on Friday morning established contact with terrorists at Kesari Top, a far off dhok in border Rajouri district’s Kandi area of Kotranka sub division in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pointing out that encounter started around 8 am, sources said the terrorists are believed to be 2-3 in numbers. However, details are awaited.
It yet to be ascertained whether the terrorists were involved in the Bhatta Durian or Upper Dangri killings. Five soldiers were killed and another injured last month as terrorists ambushed an Army vehicle on the Bhimber Gali-Surankote road near Bhatta Durian in Poonch district last month.
In the adjoining Rajouri district’s Upper Dangri village, seven civilians were killed and 14 others injured early this year.
