LG appoints new VCs to SMVD and SKUAST Universities

JAMMU, MAY 19: The Jammu and Kashmir’s Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday appointed new vice chancellors to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra and Sher-e-Kashmir University for Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu.

In separate orders, LG appointed Dr Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR, New Delhi as Vice Chancellor of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu, and Dr Pragati Kumar, Prof Delhi Technological University, New Delhi as Vice Chancellor of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra.

Both will remain in office for a period of three years or until they attain the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier, with effect from the date they takes over charge on the terms and conditions which are being notified separately, the orders said.

While Dr Tripathi succeeds Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Prof Pragati Kumar replaces Prof (Dr) Ravindra Kumar Sinha.
