SIA Jammu arrest narco-terror accused from Delhi

JAMMU, AUGUST 19: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) arrested from Delhi a key accused  Mohammad Javed, who was wanted in connection with narco-terror case registered at Police Station, Poonch.

Giving details, sources said that on May 30 this year, four people associated with a narco-terror module made an attempt to smuggle drugs and explosives into India from across the border fence along the Line of Conttol in Poonch. 

The accused persons were intercepted by Sikh LI and apprehended with arms, ammunition, IEDs and heroin.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the group of four persons (of which one had absconded from the spot) were being supervised by key accused Mohammad Javed who was also absconding. 

Following technical surveillance and human intelligence, it was ascertained that Mohammad Javed was hiding in Delhi, where a team of SIA led by Insp Lakhvir was dispatched and Md. Javed was apprehended. 

On July 6, the case was transferred to SIA fir investigations.

Further investigation into aspects of cross border operation of the narco terror syndicate into the smuggling arms, explosives and narcotics consignments are in progress.
