Mobile phone seized from militant lodged in Kot Bhalwal jail

JAMMU. JANUARY 10: The Central Industrial Security Firce (CISF) have seized a mobile phone from the possession of an under trail lodged in high security Kot Bhalwal jail following his arrest for being part of. Lashkar-e-Toiba module involved in the dropping of arms and ammunition along the international border in Jammu division through drones from Pakistan.

Identified as Habib of Kathua districtโ€™s Haria Chak village, he was among three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants arrested by police in July 2022. The other two were Faisal Muneer of Talab Khatikan and Mian Sohail of Kathua.

The module was stated to have received nearly 15 drone sorties dropped by drones and thereafter sent the arms, ammunition and cash to militants operating in Kashmir.

Pointing out that the seizure came during searches by CISF who also seized three mobile phones abandoned in an open ground inside the jail premises.

Significantly, this has been the second time during the last nearly a week that mobile phones have been found by the CISF from inside the jail premises as it had last week also lodged an FIR with the police.
