J&K | DIG reviews security situation in Kishtwar

Kishtwar: In an unwavering commitment to bolster security arrangements ahead of the upcoming General Parliamentary Election -2024, Shridhar Patil DIG DKR Range Hqrs., Batote led a comprehensive security assessment and case evaluation during his visit to Kishtwar district.
The primary objective of the visit was to ensure seamless inter-agency coordination, assess election preparedness for area domination, and review critical crime related matters. Accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdul Qayoom and other district officers, DIG of Police presided over a detailed crime review meeting at the conference hall of District Police Lines (DPL) Kishtwar.
At DPL, DIG of Police met with the NOKs of the Martyrs comforting them with the path concerning their well- being and welfare.
In the outset the meeting, SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom presented a detailed Power Point presentation highlighting various activities, cases under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act UAPA ,NDPS Act cases, and other related crimes. Additionally, preparations for the upcoming General Parliamentary Election 2024 and Eid Ul Fitr were thoroughly discussed.
Following the crime review meeting, DIG of Police inspected the District Police Office (DPO) Kishtwar, where he assessed the working of the Police Control Room and the CCTV unit. DIG also visited the recently established Cyber Propaganda Counter Unit (CCPU) and the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) where he interacted with the officials posted in these units, who provided insights into their functioning and achievements. DIG appreciated the exemplary performance of all the team members and encouraged them to maintain their dedication to duty to achieve the goals set for these units by PHQ J&K and ZPHQ Jammu.
DIG of Police also held a brief meeting with DC Kishtwar, Army and CAPF Officers of Kishtwar and discuss about the preparedness of GELs-2024. Location for incomng CAPF companies at Polytechnic College Chehrar was, also inspected by the DIG and issue necessary directions for comfortable stay of CAPF during their visit.
