Jammu: At least three heavily armed militants were killed as army foiled a major infiltration bid along the LoC in Keri Battal area of Jammu district’s Akhnoo sector.The incident, sources said, took place on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday when a group of five heavily armed militants tried to enter the Indian side through Keri Battal. However, they were intercepted and challenged by alert army troops resulting into the exchange of fire.Of the five infiltrating militants, there were killed, sources said, adding that searches were in progress for the remaining two who may have gone back, or may be hiding in the area, sources said, adding details about recovery of weapons and ammunition were awaited.Meanwhile, four soldiers also injured during the exchange of fire and they were evacuated to the hospital.
