Two JeM terror associates held with weapons in Budgam

Bandipora: Jammu Kashmir Police on Tuesday apprehended two terror associates and seized two pistols, eight grenades and over two dozen rounds from them. Identifying them as Abdul Majeed Khan of Kralpora Bandipora and Showkat Ahmad Malik of Sangrama in Sopore, sources said that following reliable information that some anti-national elements were indoctrinating youth to join terror ranks and providing them arms and ammunition, police and security forces on the basis of specific human and technical inputs apprehended Abdul Majeed Khan at Wular Vantage Park Aragam and recovered one Pistol along with 10 rounds and three hand grenades.

Three drug peddlers arrested

Budgam: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested three notorious drug peddlers in Budgam and seized1.90 grams of heroin, 110 grams of Charas and 264 capsules of Sposmo-proxovan from their possession. Identifying them as Arshid Ahmed Dar of Farishigund Dharmuna, Reyaz Hussain Mir of Main Budgam and Sajad Ahmed Bhat of Narkara Budgam, sources said that their apprehension followed police intercepting a WagonR at New Bus Adda Budgam.

Pak shelling in Poonch

Jammu: Pakistani troops on Tuesday resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling and small arms fire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Mankote sector of Poonch district. The cross border shelling started around 2.45 pm, sources said, adding the Indian Army retaliated befittingly.

ACB books former Excise Commissioner

Jammu: Anti Corruption Bureau on Tuesday booked a former Excise Commissioner Mohammad Javed Khan for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. During searches at his premises in Bhatindi in Jammu, besides Gurugram and Noida in Delhi’s National Capital Region, the ACB seized incriminating documents relating to un-accounted wealth/assets acquired by the accused.
