JAMMU, DECEMBER 12:
An Agniveer allegedly was killed after he sustained a bullet injury under suspicious circumstances inside an army unit at Tanda near Akhnoor on Tuesday evening.
Confirming the incident, police said that the details were awaited.
Meanwhile, sources said the deceased was posted on sentry duty at a picket in the evening when other personnel heard a gunshot in the evening.
As they reached there, theyfound the Agniveer lying injured. He was rushed to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
It was being ascertained as to how he sustained the gun shot. The terror angle is ruled out by the sources.
Earlier on October 11 this year, an Agniveer Amritpal Singh had allegedly committed suicide at a forward Indian position along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
